Tidal Margins Poster FINAL

Walk the wild Suffolk coast in Ipswich this summer – from the ruins of Covehithe church, to the pier at Felixstowe, via Dunwich, Snape and the Deben estuary. This is Tidal Margins, a major exhibition of art, photography and writing at the Ipswich Art School Gallery, and the culmination of three years’ work by six artists, two photographers and four writers, all inspired by the Suffolk Coast.

Art and writing workshops for children of all ages are being offered by the Tidal Margins project. Children can make wire sculptures at the first workshop on 28th May, the next on 23rd July, will combine words and pictures in a concertina book. A total of seven workshops run right through July and August, so bring your children along for a chance to make their own work inspired by the sea. Cost £3.  These workshops are funded by Touching the Tide, a Heritage Lottery funded Landscape Partnership Scheme.  For more information on this project go to http://www.touchingthetide.org.uk

There will also be opportunities for adults to respond to the exhibition through art, writing and textiles in a series of workshops and courses.

Tidal Margins is at the Ipswich Art School Gallery, at 1 Upper High Street, Ipswich, from 24th May to 7th September 2014, with work also on display at Christchurch Mansion,  and Ipswich Museum.
