Hugh de Las Casas grew up on a farm in East Suffolk, a county which he loves with a passion.  He later travelled as far as Norwich, via Lima, Nairobi, and Kabul where he worked for many years with Anglia Television, mostly being nice to talented cameramen and wishing he had their job.

His photographs have been seen in The Observer weekend supplements and various galleries.  He now walks the Suffolk coast and estuaries, chronicling the last gasp of a once pristine landscape, threatened by Man and meteorology alike.  His book, The Rivers Alde and Ore and Butley, 157 Photographs was published last year to high critical acclaim.
