Producing a piece of work is always an adventure.

There is an ‘uncovering’ process exposing the end product which occurs in both printmaking and bronze casting.  In printmaking, the lifting of the hand-made paper off the etched plate reveals the printed image.  In bronze casting, the opening up of the investment exposes the sculpture inside.

I am interested in the layers within a piece of work which reflect the subject matter;  a human element that has left a trace behind, a repeated image or an experience portrayed.  Combining these layers with the process of the medium results in the unexpected.
