STEAM, SAIL AND SAXONS – workshop 1

The first workshop in this series.  Drawing and making wire sculpture reliefs at Leiston Long Shop Museum on the subject of steam engines.  Workshop run by Heather Hodgson (painter) and Jennifer Hall (printmaker/sculptor).

Drop-in workshop for children and adults where you will learn about the great steam engines which were such an important part of our local history.  We will be drawing them first and then having a go at turning the drawings into an annealed steel wire sculptural relief.  No experience required. STEAM, SAIL AND SAXONS – workshop 2

The second workshop in this series – Drawing and collage at The Southwold Sailors’ Reading Room, on the subject of boats run by Heather Hodgson (painter) and Jennifer Hall (printmaker/sculptor).

Free Drop in workshop over the course of the day for children and adults which will give you a little insight into the history of marine boats and fishermen in Southwold, and along the Suffolk Coast.  You will be doing some drawing and colourful collages on the subject to take home with you. No experience required.  Due to space, maximum 10 per session.

When: Saturday 21st May 2016, 10.00 – 12.30 and 13.30 – 16.00 (two sessions)

STEAM, SAIL AND SAXONS – workshop 3

The third workshop in this series.  Drawing and transfer monoprinting at Dunwich Museum on the subject of archaeology.  Workshop run by Karenza Jackson (painter/printmaker) and Jennifer Hall (printmaker/sculptor).

Two separate sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon for children and adults which will give a little introduction into the exciting world of archaeology, and the fascinating pieces found at the recent Dunwich dig.  You will also do some drawing and make some colourful transfer monoprints on the subject to take home with you. No experience required.  Maximum 15 per session.

When: Saturday 28th May 2016, 10.00 – 12.30 and 13.30 – 16.00 (two sessions)

STEAM, SAIL AND SAXONS – workshop 4

The fourth workshop in this series.  Drawing and painting at Felixstowe Museum on the subject of paddle steamers.  Workshop run by Karenza Jackson (painter/printmaker) & Jennifer Hall (printmaker/sculptor).

Two separate sessions for children and adults which will give a little introduction into the exciting world of paddle steamers at Felixstowe, and their role in the community in the 19th Century.  You will do some drawing and make some colourful paintings on the subject to take home with you. No experience required.  Maximum 12 per session – booking in advance is essential – first come first served.

When: Sunday, 5th June 2016, 12.15 to 14.15 and 14.30 to 16.30 (two sessions)
